    NJ Registration Question

I'm hoping someone can help me here:

I'm struggling to figure out how to register my '03 SXR, I understand that as Proof of Ownership for the ski I need to have one of the following: MSO, COO or previous owners registration. Is there a form COO that I can use to take with us to the Notary? I can't seem to find anything online and talking to the DMV is like talking to an empty hallway, so I'm hoping someone can steer me in the right direction! Thanks!

    Re: NJ Registration Question

What should you do if you bought a ski from someone, who gave you the original title, signed and dated a bill of sale, "so did i" but its not notorized like DMV has requested? how would i get something notorized from months ago in the winter and can't contact the old owner, even if i could, he moved apparently, hes not going to waste time for me.

    Re: NJ Registration Question

You can find blank COO by doing a google search but I don't think having a blank will do you any good - I believe a coo would have to be filled out by the manufacturer same as an mso

Did you buy the ski from the last registered NJ owner

I've been out of NJ for 9 yrs - back then dmv would accept a notarized bill of sale from the last registered owner

    Re: NJ Registration Question

Sorry I replied to the original by mistake

Your best bet is to take what you have and see if they will accept it - I was able to get a reg on a couple of occasions with a non notarized bill of sale - Key was being polite and friendly and honest, maybe even a little sad faced - When it worked for me the clerk would check with a supervisor who would look me up and down and nod OK

If you bought it from the last registered NJ owner they will be able to see that in the computer and as long as your bill of sale matches that info you may get lucky.
