Here's the deal: Kawi 750 small pin, 1.0 over Wiseco's, fresh hone, new Wiseco rings and circlips. Cylinder has been ported and polished, carbon fiber reeds with reed stuffers, small pin intake manifold with dual 38's off my ZXI 750.
With stock head and new stock head gasket, compression came in around just over 100 psi. I was shocked it was so low.
Installed a lightly decked head with new stock headgaskekt and now compression is just over 120 psi.
I've just bought a very good condition OP head with the swirl domes. I'd like to get compression up to at least the 150 range, 160 would be better. I only use premium fuel and I'd like to stick to pump gas, don't want compression so high that I have to use race gas or worry about detonation. So the question is, what is a good compression number to aim for and what headgasket should I use?
Stock? .010 copper? .020 copper? green ultimate at .040?
