    Official 2012 Sortie Thread!!!

    Yes folks...its official. August 24-26th!!

I urge anyone on Facebook to join the group(
    http://www.facebook.com/groups/2687760064/
) and get the info and RSVP that way, but here is the info I posted there.

The Twin Cities Jet Pilots invite you to the 6th Annual "Sortie" at the beautiful Hok-Si-La park. We have a large plot of the best campgrounds reserved on a bluff overlooking Lake Pepin. Beginner to factory pro, young to old, pole or couch rider....everyone is invited!

We will be having multiple raffles for donated items from our sponsors!!

Our sponsors this year so far include:

Liquid Militia, The Swift-lift, Rhaas Motor Mounts, Blowsion, Z-force Racing, Badgerland Jet Pilots, Skat-trak, Killions Kustoms, Tripp Industries, and Jet Trim.

***NEW THIS YEAR*** we are trying to get a group of touring riders together to explore Lake City. It is an AMAZING area with many different areas to explore. Please contact me if you are interested in this!!

We will also have a super awesome bouy course this year...full size bouys!

    Location:

The large wooded area on the river side of 61. You can't miss it - there will be a brown highway sign that says "Hok Si La State Park" - it is just a mile north of 'downtown' Lake City on 61.

Here is a link to the map with all the important stuff marked!!

    http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=...971b8823&msa=0

There are also a few hotels in town you can crash at, but you have to be out of the park by 10PM if you are not camping.

    Arrival:

You can arrive any time after Noon on Friday August 24th. Please don't arrive any earlier, this is a park, so they have campers from the night before and they have until noon to 'check out'.

When you arrive go into the park office. The office manager will collect your payment for camping and give you a vehicle pass. The cost is $16.00 per person/per night. You will get a wristband for each night you are camping (fri and sat) from the office manager.

She will then let you through the gate and you can drive back to our camping area (Section B). You can unload all your gear and then drive back out to the parking area. We will have a lot of people coming in at the same time so unload and then go park - don't leave your rig there while you are pitching your tent.

    Parking:

We have an area designated for us to park in. It is a grassy alley off of the main parking lot. There is plenty of room for all of us to park with trailers, but if you have a really big/long trailer, disconnect it and park side by side with your trailer. You will need a vehicle pass to park overnight - so if you are coming for the day and park there, you need to have your car out by 10pm.

It is about a 1/3 mile from the camping area, so if you have a cheap bike to share please bring it!

    Launching Skis:

We discovered we could launch right from our campsite via a trail down to our beach. We used a few beach carts and a lot of man power. Nick will hopefully get the Twister down again to save some backs..

There is also a 3 lane launch about a 1/2mi away for bigger boats.

    Beaching Skis:

The only drawback to this campsite is that the beach is rocky. They are smooth river rocks, so unless you have a brand new ski you can probably plan on just gently dragging your ski up on shore and it will be fine. Otherwise, you may want to plan on bringing some bunks, a folding stand, or an anchor (cork screw ones will work). Boats will be able to pull up just fine.

During the day, when you plan on riding a lot there is a large sandy swimming beach just down the shore (200ft) from where we will be camping. More than half of it is open for boats and pwc to beach. That would be a better place to come in and out of, but when you are done riding for the day, you will want to get them off that beach and put them in front of our camping area.

    Amenities:

The park is pretty modern and has some running water spigots nearby, a couple nice outhouse close by, and just a little further walk has fully modern bathrooms with electricity and hot showers (coin op, so bring quarters).

I imagine someone will bring a generator and a power strip so we can charge stuff. Jump packs work well also.

The fire rings have grates for cooking, and we will have at least one weber grill there for sure.

NO OUTSIDE FIREWOOD ALLOWED IN - Only certified wood or pallets. They have firewood for sale at the campsite and it is probably the best deal. It is $20 for a full gator load. We will collect a couple bucks from everyone and buy some firewood.

Make sure to check back here for updates, and please do not click attending or may attend until you know 100% your coming please.

Tell your friend with the sandy vag that he's camping too!

Ok BTW I have confirmed we will have 4 real deal WFs bouys circa 03!!! I could get a whole track, but someone would have to take that project on. They have no ropes or weights. I'm willing to get the stuff together for 4, and Paul is (hopefully) bringing a chitload of jonny jumpups which are much bigger than the tiny jetlogic ones and much easier to manage.

Stay tuned on the shirts...I am working on getting that going. I'm thinking wife beaters...?

Hopefully you guys are getting pumped...I cant wait!

Just want to announce that I used $150 of the TCJP slush fund to pay our deposit 100%...in years past about 5 of us would call in and prepay. The deposit will come back to us when/if we change venues.

Also...we have some new sponsors!!! Bomber Eyewear is back on board and sending us a bunch of their floating glasses.

Also Burn Industries just...like 4 hours ago...announced that Zack Bright is their new US distributor. They make SICK life vests like the low profile non-USCG vests....but they are approved! They are just sick and literally havent even hit the states yet. The TCJP will have some of the first ones available in the US!!!

And last but not least Ronny Mac with ProRider mag is sending us some subscriptions and stuff too!!!
