Re: A salute to the Old Dudes that still ride Jet Skis!

First time ever on a ski was 1982 at Lake Mohave. Tore it up or so I thought on a 440. Bought my first ski in 1988, a brand new Kawi 650SX. Next up was a 1993 750SX and then a 2003 SXR. I now have an 1100SXR and still ride it regularly. The days of riding on New Years are over for me.

Not sure if this is viewable or not.

Yeah, we used to do a Christmas Eve ride up until a few years ago and try to get one last ride in during January. A couple of years ago there was a quick deep freeze in early Jan and we were dodging big slabs of ice in the river (salt water). It was fun, you could ride up on top of one, lose propulsion momentarily, then break the slab in half with the weight of the ski, drop back into the water and whack the throttle and take off. Now we draw the line at 50F water temp and 50F air temp. The only month of the year we have never rode in is February here in New Jersey.

There was a day but with age comes wisdom. I don't like being cold so I don't snow ski anymore either. Winter is off road season out here so plenty to do without getting wet.

Copy that....yeah, for me the cold weather is for a fire-pit going, cold beers and venison back-straps on the grill while watching the game on the patio TV.

When do you start and end your season ? Just curious. My buddy and I go from April into November...we'll be wrapping up the season next time out here in NJ.

For people that live in places that have four seasons, it varies. Mine is Apr-Nov (used to go into Dec)....but some people are strictly Memorial Day to Labor day for some reason.
I wonder how some Florida guys would handle 53F water and 51F air...like it is today ? Howbout yourself Matt ? That ok ?
