    Kerr Lake warning

Myself, Jack, and my nephew Kyle meet up to go riding today on Kerr Lake and Kyle slammed his PWC into a shallow sand bar. The Corps of Engineers are supposed to keep the changing sand bars marked out near the main channel but this one wasn't marked at all and was right in the main channel off of Monkey Foot Point. The water levels in the river are a little low on the lake and was murky so we were not able to see sand bars until it was too late. Just a warning to anyone thinking of riding there right now you need to stay off to the NE side of the lake or risk bottoming on the sand.

    Re: Kerr Lake warning

Lisa had that happen in Hot Springs last summer only she bottomed out on gravel and the water was clear. She was just going too fast to stop in a place we have gone before that's always shallow but ok for skis. The water level was a little low that trip and it almost threw her over the handlebars.
