Water coming in through electric bilge pump

Anybody ever heard of this problem? I have a 99 GSX-L that takes on water when parked. I traced it to the bilge (electric one). Water is coming in through the bilge when it's off. A lot of water. Is there supposed to be some sort of check valve on the bilge to prevent this?

Should I replace the bilge? Btw the bilge haddock been installed in there with no problems for years. All of a sudden it started doing this. I didn't change anything. What do you suggest?

The hose has to be high in the hull to prevent a siphon from happening.

If your hose is low or at water level water will come back in.

Coming off the bilge pump run the hose as high as you can in the hull and then down to the outlet fitting..

Poking a tiny hole for air to enter the hose at the highest point will break any siphon.

Be sure it is not coming in from the oem scuppers, look into the nozzel for TWO tubes hanging out into the water flow from the pump.
