Yes, it is a beautiful dam and surroundings but some times during the year the water is green from algae, which is a pity.

As a matter of interest, this is a bit off the topic, but I thought I would share it with you guys, one of my other water toys.
Here are 2 pics of my Surf Jet taken at Hartbeespoort dam and Buffelspoort dam. I don't know about the USA and other parts of the world, but here in South Africa are probably only a handful in the country, and wherever I go, I attract a lot of attention.
The first Surfjets were originally manufactured in 1965 by Bombardier. This one of mine is a 1986 model with a 200cc twin cylinder 2 stroke engine delivering 15hp. Although it is old, after some initial priming, it starts up first time and I have had awesome fun with it. I bought it for ZAR 4 000, which is about USD 600, which I think is quite cheap as the person I bought it from hardly used it. Mine does a max speed of 45km/h (28 mph) on my GPS on flat water.
The newer ones called X-Boards has 40 Hp Rotary or supper charged engines, and they do an incredible 80 km/h (50mph).
