    Painting a B1

Looking to paint my B1. So, I need to know recommended products for touching up scratches and divots. (B1 is in storage, and I am not sure whether top deck, hood and bottom deck are SMC or fiberglass)

Can anyone recommend a decent paint? The simpler the better. I've never painted anything but houses, so this is all new to me. Oh, and I will not spray bomb/rattle can it.

    Thanks

I prepped my blaster, sanded everything down with wet 400 grit, sprayed with high build primer out of a rattle can, block sanded with wet 600 grit, then sprayed the whole thing with primer, then dropped it off at a body shop anklet them shoot paint/clear. Blaster is not a good ski to learn how to paint on, lots of curved surfaces. Check out my build thread for pics

Thanks. I like your approach of dropping it off at a body shop, but this is gonna be my daughter's Senior Project that I am supposed to 'mentor' her on, so we need to do it ourselves. I love how she picked me as a mentor, except I am clueless on painting vehicles.

Only need two thing for a great paint job....... Pep and Boys! LoL.

Where are u located? I paint for Ap Designs, happy to help ya out.

First thing you want to do is strip everything you can. Removing is better then masking. I use 220 and a small foam block to primer prep. You don't want to use much finer paper, too smooth is bad! After a good coat of PPG DP90 it will be silky smooth. You can go for a single stage or various base colors then clear.

Hit me up if you need help. Toby.
