      Re: Yamabooeey's 1200 B1

The GP 800 midshaft is shorter then the blaster midshaft. I have a stock blaster midshaft on my Yami 1100. I really like how it rides, but on this 1200 I wanted to move it back to see both side of the world. I also have a 155 pump in the 1100 and going with a 144 pump in the 1200.

On your xl1200 midshaft, take off the triangular part and look inside the shaft. If you see splines 1" from your eyeball you can use it. Some midshafts have splines real deep and will not spline to your driveshaft because your driveshaft is not that long.

Also filled in the driveshaft area for better flow.. I use a 3/4" pvc glued in with polyurethane and filled with micro balloons/epoxy resin.

I'm taking notes here. So far this looks like the most cost effective way of doing the conversion.

Here's what I'm using for my exhaust. Home Depot special. 3"ABS black plumbing pipes, male and female sandwich the hull with 3 gaskets (kitchen strainer gaskets). 1100 Raider or Waveventure waterbox and hoses. I have this setup on my Yami 1100 for 2 years with no issues. The battery box is trim down and bolted to the back side of the firewall just above the steering cable.

The plates are 3" x 19 3/8". (3/8" thick) I use a 12" miter saw with 44 teeth blade to cut the length.

You got to bring your blasters to DJSA races you'll have fun.

And a 951. My friend John have a Yami 927 and a Kawi 1100 so we will definitely compare them all this summer with a video and a write up.

Norm, your 1200 Blaster with stock 44mm carbs is going to need to make pit stops if Jim sets up a large track this year and gives us an 8 lap moto.

Correction: the waveventure waterbox will not fit you will need the waveraider 1100 wb. The one in the pic is the wrong one.
