    Advent Ignitions

Over the years I have done alot of business with many USA after market people and race shops and had good experiences in the main.( Macc Racing,Tech One,Walts,Jet Trim and Blowsion are standouts IMO)

In relation to Advent it has not been the case.

I purchased an ignition at the beginning of 2010 to set up a big bore SXR 850 Lites ski over here that went really well and won quite a few titles.

The ignition was good for a while and then it failed on the morning of our 2010 Nationals.

I used another over that weekeend and sent it back to Blowsion ( whom I purchased it from) to sort. They subsequently had Advent test that it was all good and sent it back.

Put it back in and it did not work. Our season that year had finished and I did not follow up with it as I was over the whole deal.

I then sent it direct to Advent at the end of August 2011 to see what they could do.

I indicated to Greg that he had received it returned from Blowsion previously for fault finding.

He said that he had never received that particular igniter back from Blowsion and that it was originally purchased /allocated to a prominent race shop in the USA that deals with Kawa tuning /builds??? ( based on the part number on the sticker)

Following at least 9 emails on the matter and 4 direct calls and conversations with Greg Fischer over some 18 weeks I still don't have resolution on the matter.

Greg sounds like agreat guy on the phone however I know alot of great guys and just wanted my ignition sorted after being told it was being looked at.

I don't know what confusion there was/may have been between Blowsion and him however it's irrelevant as he had the ignition resent to him direct back in September 2011 ?

My experience with Blowsion has been A1 over the years and I suspect there are some serious logging /stock management issues within Advent.

I will stand corrected though.I have offered Greg in writing to pay for what was needed to rectify so its not like I'm looking for a freebie and making things difficult.

My last call to him was only 2 weeks ago and I said I would email him again on the matter and he assured me he would return the email.

I won't be using Advent again. They are very poor with follow up service based on my personal experince with them.

I love Greg and Advent, sorry you had a bad time. I used them directly and they treated me very well.

Sounds more like blowsion never did anything with it.
If advent has the part numbers and says he never saw it. Did he quote you a price to fix it?

My experience with John Daddy over the years has been good and I really dont think they would bull**** to me and send me back a faulty igniter that they did not pass on to Advent.

What do they have to gain from that? They are not the manufacturer.

As I said I will stand corrected on the matter.

The real point is that Greg has had 18 weeks to sort this with me directly with no outcome.

I'm beyond frustration hence my forum post to warn others.

    Re: Advent Ignitions

I lost 7 advents when I was running them in my sj. Ya No joke 7. Seems like if you could get past the lady that answered the phone you might have a chance. I spent allot of money with them back in the day. I personally would never buy another one.

    Re: Advent Ignitions

I had poor luck as well. I ordered an advent for a limited sj a few years back, it didn't work, sent it back twice for reprogramming, never worked. Told them to forget it and put msd enhancer back in. And yes it was hooked up properly.

    Re: Advent Ignitions

Hell Greg sent me one for my SJ and it was configure for non-high compression motor so my motor didn't spin fast enough to create a spark. He worked with me on the phone and sent me one that will create a spark at a lower rpm and I had his original. He trusted me to send the other one back. So Greg has always treated me right , i could have easy sold the first one he sent me but I mailed it back to him
