    Re: 650sx fixted steer!

I exaggerated a little when I first posted, I'm about an inch past the last rideplate inserts... I looked and I'll still be able to run the stock ride plate I'm going to shorten it a little anyways... I'm going to put te steering as far back as I can. It will be similar to WFO but not as cut up...

And I'm going to add that inch back on... I mean if you cut off 2.5 then I'm at like 3.5 I don't think it'll make THAT big of difference... I'll see why happenes when I get my resin in to if I want to add the part I cut back on or leave it off

No I think you are good, I came out right behind the inserts and it left the pocket for the ride plate piece to fit in, glass it up where its at , run the stock length on the ride plate and then start chopping the plate an inch at a time till its where you want it.

Like WB said where you mount the steering is going to be critical, you may want to go a little forward of where mine is, since I cut the back you really have to get your weight way forward to recover on landings, about an inch farther forward would probably change all that. I can do a measurement off mine when needed.

    Re: 650sx fixted steer!

ok cool thanks ill let you know when i need it.
and are you sure? i only have 2 inserts... well im at least going to add a little so i can protect the nozzel a bit, its way too far out, and maybe a little kick tail like that new 550 up in the vintage ski section.

    heres the hole

took the fire extinguiser hole out and glassing over the hole.

well i talked to davenjw about his fixted steer 650 (ugly duckling) and he said he put it using the blow hole and he said it was so awkward to ride because it was far forward... can someone explain to me or send me a link to something what causes pourposing... im building this for me, and well, something i can convince my GF to ride so she can get off the seadoos and have some fun so i dont want it throwing her around but i also want to be real fun maybe back flipable haha probably not that though...

Are there inserts in the piece you cut off, this is really starting to not make sense.
