    300sx Awaiting Backflip Build

So i decided to miss my whole summer full of jet skiing at the lake every day to build my 300 and tear apart my perfect 650 but its still not finished im just awaiting fiberglass and fitting the 650sx tunnel but its almost there. I decided to post this to help others and get help. anyways i went a little bit of a different rout then the other 300 builds on here and i decided to make it a little bit easier on mounting the motor in. you'll see in the pics. Just let me know what you think and give me any tips you can. Anyways the build will be pretty basic for now. its just gonna be the stock 650 components in the 300 hull with the 650 tunnel glassed in and the 300 reinforced. and after its all done i'll put a 750 big pin in late this winter. and hopefully i'll be flipping it. btw this is my first jet ski build.

That's what I plan to do if I ever get around to transplanting pumps. I don't feel confident in getting the alignment right otherwise. tjmonsen5, I think, was doing that to a 550, but I don't know if I missed the thread of how it went or if it didn't happen. I remember seeing a picture of the hull cut like that. Looks good though.

not to burst your bubble, but that thing will not backflip with a kawi motor. Go for a kawi 701 with a b pipe if you want some real power.

i dnt think its possible with the stock 650sx motor but once i put the big pin 750 in with some mods then i think it will be. oh and i forgot to mention, im also putting a x2 trim nozzle on. and i willl look into the yami 701 motor i jus dont know how hard it will be to drop that in. and naticen its not as hard as it looks. soo far for me the hardest thing was defoaming the skis.

Yami engine no harder to drop in than a Kawi engine

I meant yamihammer 701. The kawasaki motors do not have the bottom end snap that a yamaha has.

    Re: 300sx Awaiting Backflip Build

You guys know a kawi makes more power than a Yamaha right? Its all in the pumps. The Yami over all setup is better. The 701 all had 144mm pumps. Where the 750 kaiws had tanks of hulls and 140mm pumps. The SXR has a great motor but it has a 400lb hull and a 140mm pump. Now drive shafts are a different story Kawi had that right just too small of a pump.

and you guys want your minds blown more? A well ported 650 will rip your arms off on pump gas. The port timing on a 650 kawi is much better than a 750 small pin or big pin. and the 800 is right about in the middle of the small and big pin for port timing.

The reason everyone things a 701 is such hot $hit is because you get on a slug 750 kawi and then a SJ and it feels like lighting. But have you ever rode a SJ with a kawi motor in it?

    Re: 300sx Awaiting Backflip Build

Now about this build, you should rething the 650 glass work you are about to do and do a sxr pump area. You want the long big intake track to get water in that pump. and you want to fill the big drive shaft hole around the shaft. Search "drive shaft fill"

With all the work you are doing, putting a 750/800 shoe and long intake in isnt anything

thats a good point, I have only ridden my old x-2 with a bolt on 650, and a stock 750sx and neither were anywhere near as hard hitting as my bone stock 62t/61x. The worst part about kawi pumps is siliconing that shyt in for prop changes.
