    Re: Piston Recommendation

Stock Kawi, then Pro X and when you don't have a choice, Wiseco. You will get longer life out of a good cast piston (Kawi, Pro X) then you will out of a Wiseco. A good cast piston being hypereutectic (11% + ) silicone is harder, more resistant to thermal expansion and scuffing (seizing). It will run better longer. This is not to say a Wiseco is bad, its just not as good of a choice for most engines as a good cast piston. I know that every person out here who runs a Wiseco will chime in and tell you how great they but you asked.

    Re: Piston Recommendation

A couple engine builders I talked to said that wiseco pistons were great but needed an extra long warm up time compared to other brands. I guess they need to swell to fill up the cylinder more than others, and if not warmed properly will cause a slight knock from the piston rocking in the cylinder. I've ran stock kawi, pro x, and wiseco and never noticed any difference between any of them. Just putt around for five minutes before smashing the throttle and it'll be just fine
