What color should the spark be on the NGK Iridium Spark plugs

I'm getting an orange spark from my plugs when tested connected to the coil and touch the ground.

    Is this correct?

Would a wet fouled plug have an orange colored spark?

I'm going to change the spark plugs first, but didn't want to waste the money if there is something wrong with the CDI or something.

Blue is best....orange may need some plugs, The CDI is built into the ECU

    Joe,
I was not impressed with the spark intensity of the Honda ECU. Even with new plugs the spark looks a little weak and is not a strong blue like you would expect.

Even with new spark plugs, what color would you get? Could the coils be the reason for weak spark?

I hate to disagree but a weak yellow spark is not very good and in most ignition systems means trouble. A bright blue is your most desireable and is usually a sign of a healthy ignition system. The hottest is an ultraviolet that you can not even see except the blue/maroon color.

Is there an issue with the ski? Have you retried with new plugs?

I just ordered new plugs so I'll let you know how that works.

I'm not sure why I didn't think to get new plugs to begin with, after having a cracked exhaust manifold which allowed salt water into the head/valves and cylinders

Like I said earlier, it ran fine for a little while on the hose, and then just quick. Trying to start it back up wet fouled the plugs.

Two more oil changes, and new spark plugs and I should be home free.
