Re: Jersey shore this weekend, looking for riding buddy?

I realize this thread is old but I am looking for a place to hit up this summer to get my SJ or x2 in the surf for the first time. I'm coming from Pittsburgh and have been doing some reading about lbi and beach haven are these good places worth the 6hr drive for a long weekend? Are the waves decent?

    Thanks

No info for you but myself and family do plan to make a trip and if its awesome like it seems, we'll probably make more. I'm on the Delaware. We were looking at the same area. LBI, Barneget Bay, Ship Bottom area.

Corsons Inlet in Strathmere is one of the best places

+1 for corson's - I am there a lot in the summer. Just gotta watch the sandbar when the tide is low.

I have ridden at LBI, its good too.

Cape May is also great place for ocean riding - easy access through inlet and great vacation spot - even more fun if the dolphin come out to play - I moved away and now enjoy the fresh water lakes of Tenn but will never forget the days wave jumping with my son - plenty of places to stay in Cape May and even more in nearby West Wildwood

On the day we took these pics the swells were perfect for launching jumps and when the dolphin showed up we shut the motors down and just enjoyed their company

Awesome. Used to go to Wildwood and cape may annually for over 15 years. There are always dolphins there. Can't wait for some day trips. Was also debating getting a beach permit in north wildwood to launch skis. They use them early though only until memorial day. I'll be staying in the bays, don't want to push the hulls in the waves but I'll be down there and or lbi area this year
