    Re: New to Colorado!

Dont have my ski here yet but would like to. Would like to rebuild it here instead of back home. Just was wondering what the scene is like here. I see some stand ups at cherry creek sometimes. I have a boat here and I take water skiing and barefoot skiing pretty seriously but that takes flat glass water. Would like to have something to do when its choppy which is 85% of the time.

    Re: New to Colorado!

IC ... the Jet ski, watercraft scene is pretty active along the front range. Pueblo to Ft. Collins quite a few lakes to ride. We do have one of the best Jet ski motor builders in the nation here in Aurora. His reputation is well know across the country. Rick Kantola at Peak Powersports, Aurora.

Most hardcore riders I know are already riding. Once it warms up, the warm weather riders will come out of the woodwork. It's Typically busy on the weekends at CCR and Chatfield. Evenings and days during the week are nice to ride.

    Hope that helps!

    Re: New to Colorado!

Its possible. Keep in mind that Chatfield and Cherry Creek are State Parks. They will not allow any buoy set ups on the lake.

Back in 2004-2008, I had to pull a permit from the State Parks Service in order for us to practice for race season with a buoy course. It wasn't cheap, had to have a general liability insurance policy and could practice only on Monday afternoon.

State Parks patrols these waters pretty heavily. Especially on the weekends. Even if you did throw a couple of buoys out, eventually they will come around asking about them.

Somebody else might chime in here on this thread with some new intell. Hope that helps!

We ride at Boyd in Loveland. A guy there has a permit for buoys. We have quite a few stand up guys out there on the weekends. There's a jet ski only cove, and were usually camped out at the loading dock. Pretty good time, a little drive for you though.

    Re: New to Colorado!

Cool Sound good. I may have to come check it out. I dont take this seriously at all. Have not actually rode in about 3-4 years. My dad decided to pay for the parts for me to rebuild my ski. There is a thread about it on the Polaris section. I used to ride them back in Illinois on a little 7 acre pond at my farm. We would set up milk jugs tied to duck decoy weights. Was a lot of fun especially when I had a 650sx and 650sj at the same time. Maybe Ill get the ski out here and and come take a spin with you guys.
