Wave blaster starter motor hassle (HELP)

    Hey Guys

I have this mate with a 94 wave-blaster 1 who now is having hassle with the starter motor we've tested the soloid and it seems to be hundreds what would be our next step ( due to a new stater is to expensive for him R 3800). Is there a way in repair. I've never actually heard for this happening before...?

Your post is very unclear... Test the solenoid, check and inspect connections/cables, the starter and bendix,

We've check the solenoid and is 100% we put a new one in just to be sure. all that's happening is the solenoid magnet is just clicking there's no sound from the starter at all.

Does the motor spin? Take out the sparkplug and push a cylinder down. Check all your electrical connections. Battery is drained?

Nothing is happening with the motor or anything else. just that clicking sound of the solenoid.

Remove the spark plugs and turn the motor over by hand (grab the coupler).
If it doesn't turn over, you got problems. (Motor seized?)
If it does turn over, you need to pull the starter motor itself out. It is likely seized.
If I sound like a moron, it's only because I haven't typed enough words yet.

to answer the rebuilding part of the question.. you can disassemble and clean the internals with a chance of success but since your in Africa if it boils down to needing a new one I would suggest getting yours rebuilt locally

Check the resistance in the starter wires both positive and negative wires. I had a similar problem and found out that inside the wires was basically dust and couldn't handle the amp draw. It would click but nothing else. Easy way is to jump the starter by either hooking up a battery charger straight to it or just jumping it witoh screwdriver

Consider buying a new starter from eBay. Most of the US vendors would ship to South Africa. Much cheaper than OEM. At least you wouldn't have to worry about it for a while then.
