    Couple questions

    • Have you ever rode to Bimini before on a PWC or will this be your first time?
    • Will there be a chase boat(s) following the group?
    • What would happen if someone would have a mechanical failure?
    • What other safety precautions are being taken to ensure everyone arrives safely?

This tells me nothing. You've successfully avoided every question i've asked. You're still figuring out rider and equipment safety plans??? Don't you think this should have been the first thing to be addressed instead of how much to charge people for hotel accomodations?

Have you or any other of your experts in offshore riding ever rode a PWC to Bimini or any other foreign country before? A trip like this is no small under taking. I just want to make sure for the amount of money you are charging that I'm being led by people with actual first hand experience and local knowledge. Not just some guy who thinks that since he's rode up and down a river a few times that he's qualified to lead 100 people across the Atlantic Ocean.

    I agree...

The weekend rates for a 1 bedroom at Bimini sands is $310... So $930 for 3 nights.
Lets estimate fuel at $5/gal... so thats $250 for 50 Gals.
    $150 for the customs fee.

    Total - $1330 before food.
Continental breakfast (bagels and muffins), Lunch to go ( sandwiches and chips), and dinner.... Cheeseburgers and fries?

Lets estimate $30 per person per day for food... so for two people thats another $180

So you're out the door for a conservative $1510 when you get charged $2050...

So this guy is making $540 for the 2 rider deal.... so $270 per rider.... X 100 riders.... = $27,000 profit.

Sure hope there is a Coast Guard or marine towing company escorting this flotilla. Out of 100 watercraft there will be breakdowns, injuries and who knows what. Maybe the $27K is for liability insurance. Organizers are gonna need it.

I applaud JJs for promoting jet ski events and comradeship but please be careful. As for those that think the package price is too high there is nothing to stop you from individually making arrangements and joining the flotilla anyway. Its a free ocean.

Exactly... and when those people do break down obviously we wouldn't leave them stranded in the middle of the Gulf Stream. But if I'm a customer paying $2k+ I don't want my trip to be ruined because I have to play rescue boat to a guy attempting to cross the Gulf Stream in an '89 Seadoo XP.

I love the idea of like minded people with similiar interests getting together and socializing. I'm a member of many different forums that suit my interests like cars, boats, music, and sports. I fully support club gatherings and get togethers, but this event seems like a bit more then should be attempted and I would hate to hear one of my fellow PWCers having an injury, loss of property or life from it.

IamBetter, it seems that you have a hard on for Jet ski Junkies as all of your posts have come from this single thread..

This trip carries risks, and is for people that live in the real world knowing that things can and sometimes do happen. Common sense is the #1 thing that people need as you are out in the middle of nowhere and can't be acting like an idiot, because if someone were to endanger my life out there in the ocean, you can rest assured an *** beating will be waiting for you when the opportunity is available.

I am sure that there will be a liability waiver that you will need to sign.

Also it is best to use the "buddy system" on a trip like this, meaning, bring another responsible level headed person with you, in the event you break down or vice versa, you have each other to depend on and have a tow vehicle.

If my attitude towards him seems less then civil its because I've been trying to communicate with him on my regular forum but he fails to respond to any of my messages and then his threads get deleted. So having to track this guy down across multiple forums is frustrating to say the least.

Obvisouly any sane person would bring as much common sense when attempting this trip. None of my questions had any relevence towards acting inappropriate in the Ocean. My questions were geared towards unforseen problems like mechanical failures. As a paying customer I would expect some type of reassurance that I would get to safety if something were to fail. I have a 2010 craft and maintain it to be in top form so I have full confidence in my craft... but sometimes **** happens that you have no control over.

A buddy system is a good idea but as a paying customer I shouldn't be held responsible for the safety of other paying customers. It should be up to the "owner" to ensure everyone is taken care of. As I said earlier... After paying thousands of dollars for this trip I wouldn't want to be put in a buddy group with some random person in an '89 Seadoo SP and have to play rescue if/when he has a failure and have my entire trip ruined.
