    Re: GT-X2 1100 Build

KLX110 or KX100 (2005) is the correct seat. There are a few different model/years that utilize the same seat base, which is the important part, but I know for sure that those work.

        Re: GT-X2 1100 Build

Chris... Yes that's it. I don't want to open that hole up if my filler neck is bigger than the 1 on the tank. I'd just rather buy the stock plastic sxr neck and cap.

I bought the seat off eBay..it was advertised as a klx. Oh well I only paid $10 for it and now it's in the trash.

            Re: GT-X2 1100 Build

            Thanks chris...that's what I needed.

Johnny... After you mentioned the Kx 100 seat I started thinking. A Kx 100 is a way bigger bike than the klx 110. I checked part diagrams on 2005 klx 110 Kx 100 and Kx 65. The part #s are the same for the klx 110 and Kx 65 not for the Kx 100. As far as I can tell I need the kx100 and the klx 110 won't fit. I remember hearing way more about the klx seat fitting, I think. I knew when I was mounted the metal bracket to the seat something was off. Thanks for putting me on the right track.

On the first picture where you looped the blue/red and the blue/white wires? was that the timing advance?

You said you plan on cutting the box down..... Are you going to weld it back up to make it seal? Where are you going to mount the CDI?

Why did you splice those two whites together? They look like they go to the same place.

The 1st picture is the timing advance.

For the electric I followed some advice from one of the other members, Their is some good pics from the member in the sxr thread. I am going to use a 1/8 aluminum sheet and cut out a lid for the e box. You won't need the stock top anymore which gives a good bit of room. I milled the tabs down on the cdi mounts in the ebox. Once you do that you can flip the cdi upside down and it will sit flush with the top of the ebox. Then you move the starter into the extra electric holes. I jb welded up the extra holes not used. You have to cut a lot out of the walls out of the ebox. I will add some more pics soon.

For the white wire, I don't think both whites are needed. Some of the other pics I have seen both whites were used so I left it alone. Not to mention I did not want to mess with the stock connection or just cut it and leave it hanging. At some point I am going to order some new connectors from Kawasaki and the Lexan box to redo everything. If I remember correctly the extra white went to the key switch on the 1100.

I was the one who modified the box that you modeled yours after. The 2 whites simply get spliced together, as one does go to the switch. I have realized you can actually eliminate the green plug itself and just splice the white leads together, with a connector so you can remove/unhook them.

both whites go to the same place but for clearity...I have not mentioned that on any of my builds...and I spliced mine.....I didn't want to confuse....jopi had posted the first wiring diagram and it works so I left that alone....some find this confusing enough..haha....for simple swapping I made a jumper that will make any stock 1100 ebox connect to my sxr switch....you just never know....and it is easier to find a 1100 ebox for t'sing than the special one off...that is produced over a six pack in the garage

Are these Gen 2 X-2's just a new top deck on an SXR hull or a whole new craft? Sorry to sound like a dummy just curious.

Or a whole boat. They are made both ways. Also the real gen2 is just a top deck on a sxr right from kawi. And this top deck is lighter.
