Whats the top speed on your FX HO

i did a top speed test yesterday on some glassy open water with slight head wind and ran a 60.6mph on a GPS.

curious how this matches up to others with a FX HO's

my ski has a riva kit as well and i just though it would be a little quicker in the 62-63mph range

My '05 HO hit 61.01 on GPS on glass water in early spring. It was bone stock.

I've hit 59.8 on my 08 FX HO on glass water with no wind. It is stock. I've raced my brother on his 06 FX HO and I know that I am at least 1 mph faster. I suspect part of the difference is the nano hull which sits higher in the water. The ride is noticably different.

I have an 07 HO with R and D intake grate and ride plate, solas propand seal kit, riva filter and riva free flow. Never GPS 'd the thing but the ski rides great. I cant keep up with my friends that go 70 on the flats but put me in rough ocean water with them and they're typically in my mirror.

I know the speedos are off, so, I figure when it reads 67, I give a leeway to 63. completely stock '09. If you tuck down below the bars, you will see a definite increase in top speed. I don't have a GPS, yet. But just tucking down, in neutral trim, seems to show me the best speed. Also kind of interesting to see the speed readings drastically changed by different trim settings. May need to invest in a GPS sooner, than later!

so after washing my ski i noticed what ooked like foam gasket sticking out from between the intake grate and pump plate so i took off the intake grate and pump plate and it turns out i blew what yamaha calls the "packing felt". i ordered a Riva pump seal kit today and will install tomorrow. i thought something wasnt right on my last ride and wasnt sure what it was but now i know i was having some cavitation issues. ill do another GPS run this weekend and post the updated results. im hoping for 63-64mph this time around.

i just use my garmin GPS from my car. i just put it in my waterproof pelican case i keep my wallet and phone in and put it in the cup holder. it has a setting that keeps track of top speeds, avg speeds distance traveled total ride time ect. or you can wrap it in a plastic bag as well im sure

I was feeling bad for you since you have the Riva kit and mine was faster. Hopefully the pump seal will bring it up.

ya i was feeling bad for myself as well. i noticed the speed drop over the last few rides and it didnt have the same pickup from idle. once i saw the seal bulging out i knew something was wrong and after talking with Riva today they confirmed that this would cause major cavitation and speed loss.

I was Radared by the Missouri State Water Patrol last summer at 59mph. 2007 FX-HO --200 hours--3/4 fuel--full cooler of beverages and me @ 200lbs-- optimal conditions. :O) Jim

30mph after dark on Tablerock. Because of all the boat collisions and deaths at night. Bass boats are the worst. Tons of tournaments all the time. Jim :O)

Didn't even think about that. Table Rock does have a LOT of tourneys.
