Yes it's a shame. He's becoming more and more Republican by the minute. It seems like he's adopting the Reagan (who was the first to "just make em legal"), Bush, McCain logic of ending illegal immigration.

I see you like to compare apples to oranges.....LOL!!! The 1986 Reform and Control Act is nothing compared to what NOBAMO wants to do. The 1986 act allowed less then 3 million illegals to take advantage of the ACT. Plus it had specifics for employers to state their employees immigration status. Plus it was for certain illegals that had been living in the US before 1982. It also created a way for illegals that came in after 1982 to become legal but did not simply grant them citizenship.

This new sweeping Amnesty policy that is going through back-door channels is NOTHING like the 1986 Reform and Control Act. This new policy will give an estimated 20-30 million illegals complete amnesty from deportation and will give them full citizenship with all the benies of a welfare person in the USA.

This new policy is a sweeping ACT with little to no restrictions.

A Socialist Marxist YES a Republican or even a Democrat he is NOT!!!!

They may be apples and oranges, however they are both growing from the same poisonous tree: the idea that those deemed criminals are a useful part of society and should therefore be granted legal status. Sure there may be some different twists and turns, however the philosophy behind it is the same.

What is different is that since 1986 we've just about had an open border policy with Mexico and, like it or not, most American really don't give a rat's a$$ about illegal immigration when it comes time to vote. Most American's like yourself it seems, are more concerned about how a politician is labeled and what "brand" he is. New York Madison Ave. ad agencies have managed to reduce political decision making into one or two word phrases. All you have to say is "NOBAMA," "Socialist Marxist," " Republican," and so on. Little thinking, no thought process, just sloganeering. Now as for your numbers,

I have no idea where you got numbers like 3 million, 20 to 30 million from, but lets assume they are true. With that said, they're are probably 10 times more illegal immigrants in this country now than in 1986 ergo a 10 fold increase in the number of people impacted make it not much different from the effects of the 1986 bill. Since 1986 we've had 34 years of open borders! Indeed while I'm not a huge supporter of President Obama, his administration has done more to protect the Southern border than the pervious 4. Now I'm sure that you're going to rant and rave about how the only reason Obama did anything about the Southern border is because the Republicans forced him to do it, but non-the-less, this administration is the first administration in my memory that has taken illegal immigration seriously by protecting the borders and increasing deportation.

    Re: Boycott Mexico-Jet Skier Shot

Talk about using little to NO thought, you are the one that mentioned him being more and more like a republican. As an Independent I look at the issues and the direction a politician looks to or wants to take this country based on their past political moves and/or current political direction, the side of the fence they stand doesn't matter, what they want to do does.

Again, your little to no thought shows when you state an ACT and don't even know what it did or didn't do.

If we also go by your impact theory, back in 1986 unemployment was under 7%. Today it is at 9.6%-9.7%. The impact of 20 million on a economy that has an uneployment rate of 9.6%-9.7% is about 100 times more then less then 3 million on a economy with less then 7% unemployment. Good impact theory......LOL!!!!

I guess his law suits against AZ are part of that wonderful deportation he is working on so hard. President asked for executive order to halt deportation, work raids. The Obama administration's new directives, from immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director John Morton, are a shortchange of federal immigration enforcement laws which will result in massive numbers of illegal immigrants released from threat of deportation. Is this what you were talking about......LOL!!!!

Maybe this is what you meant: The changes begin internally, but also severely restrict city and state enforcement: Some changes include
    • enforcement limited to illegal immigrants who have committed of "serious" crimes
    • dismissal if the crimes aren't deemed serious
    • dismissal if credible immigration applications are pending
    • a proposed directive to prohibit police from sending illegal immigrants discovered in misdemeanor traffic stops to ICE, again, unless the illegal immigrants have "serious" crimes.
Maybe you meant this: On behalf of approximately 7,000 ICE officers and employes, a unanimous "Vote of No Confidence" has been issued to the directors of ICE for their leadership and policies. This is particularly damning because it focuses on obstructionist policies that put Americans at risk and keep agents from doing their jobs. This is about "Amnesty through Policy".Director Morton and Assistant Director Coven are doing the will of President Obama's administration. "Amnesty through Policy" directives reflect on President Obama's leadership. The policies that are ignored, the policies that are pushed, the data that is manipulated and lies that are told - are on orders which flow directly from the White House .

    Re: Boycott Mexico-Jet Skier Shot

Not sure where you got the idea that I had an "impact theory," and I'm not certain what all those unemployment numbers you mentioned have anything to do with anything, but I was only referring to the numbers that you mentioned: 3 million in 1986, and 20 to 30 million in 2010. I responded by saying that if there is a ten fold increase in the numbers of illegals made legal, than perhaps, there is also a ten fold increase in the amount of illegals in this country.

As for deportations and enforcement, I'm not defending the current administrations suit against AZ., however this administration has taken a more aggressive stance toward illegal immigration in general and our Southern borders in particular than the previous 4 or 5 administrations. It has also placed more border agents and National Guard, on the Mexico/US border than the previous administrations. Now you may not agree with what he is doing and complain that it is not enough, but the previous administrations did nothing.

As for me saying that he is sounding more and more like a Republican, well he is. With few differences, Obama's policies are looking more and more like those supported by the Republicans during the 2000 elections.

However all this is pointless. You seem to dislike him, and nothing I or anyone else can say will change your mind.

Not that it isn't a sad story but they were riding in Mexican waters and I would have to assume that anyone that lived down there would have known about the robbings etc. Just saying, they put themselves in a dangerous position.

    Re: Boycott Mexico-Jet Skier Shot

It should be clearer then "seems" like I don't like him.....lol!

Showing force with it's hands tied behind their backs is like trying to stop water with a screen. The illegal immigration process has been a joke for years, you are right about that point. However, just because it has been doesn't mean we should now just throw up our arms and say give them all legal citizenship and until they get it you can't question their legal/illegal status in this country. That is what is being done by this admin. The amount of illegals has grown at an estimated 500,000 per year since 1986. ICE has been hog-tied by this admin. They can NOT deport of even question possible illegals about their status. So unless the person commits a serious crime they are free to live off the taxpayers. Even if they are caught after committing a serious crime they have the option of requesting to be deported, which most do. Then they just re-enter the country and since they can NOT be questioned about their legal status they are free to commit more crimes until caught again.........they(illegals) even joke about the revolving door system we have here in the US. This admin. is not agressive at all about illegal immirgation unless you mean it wants to allow it and gain that voting base by a sweeping amnesty act.....then you are correct!

I don't even live there and I knew about the robberies.

This story is certainly not a happy one, however it is one that could have been avoided. (I'm not saying that we should stand by while cartels render US waterways "unsafe") I AM however saying that 10mm is correct... it is YOUR job to assess risk in any situation and make decisions accordingly. These two chose poorly. Hopefully their poor decision will prompt authorities to take control of the lake. (doubtful.... but one can dream)
