Everything I've read says stock it would do 40. Either way, I don't intend to leave it mechanically stock.

I found the owners manual in it and it is apparently a 428 L/C with a Cuyuna 428. I'm trying to clear my lift so I can get this one on and take a more in-depth inspection.

It should be fun no matter what. This is going to be the winter project.

Re: Why does my WetJet look so different?

I've had two older wetjets. there is no way they did close to 40 MPH. I had X2's and my roomate had a HX at the time I owned them and they were sloths compared to the X2's and my X2's at the time were pretty much stock.

Not me in the first pic , just a picture I found of the model I owned. Im not that cool at the guy in the pic.

Still haven't found any other WetJet with this configuration or design. It's blowing my mind.

Next question would be - Does anyone have the electronic version of the Clymer manual? LOL. It was apparently included in the "Clymer Personal Water Vehicle Service Manual - 1980-1988"

Would be awesome to have a copy.

I know I'm resurrecting an old thread but I can give you some insight as to the design of this particular WetJet if you are still active on this forum board.

    Spill the beans already.
I have a sneaky suspicion he may not be the only one that has visited this site looking for information on these hulls.
    And welcome aboard!

Re: Why does my WetJet look so different?

Sorry, account just got privelages late yesterday and I was too tired to post it all last night.

The design for the hulls was not from WetJet but from a smaller company that he invested in and ended up with controlling share of, Shark Industries. The first business cards for WetJet actually said "WetJet makers of Shark". Shark is actually who worked with Cuyuna to make the liquid cooled version of the Cuyuna engine, which was back then fan cooled and used mostly in snowmobiles and ultralight aircraft.

The 2 boats in that picture were made prior to 1984. That is the best picture I have available at the moment.

I am curious if the OP still has the one from the first post and what it's status is? I would like to know more about the jet pump in it.
