Re: HOW TO: fix your new to you x2. READ THIS BEFORE YOU POST A NEW THREAD asking how

I read up on it on another forum but couldn't really see a advantage other then not having to silicone around it any more.????... But one thing I am curious is does that prevent u from having the machine a 750 impeller ? Cause from wat I've been told there's a lot more pitches available for 750. Or 800 but I just kinda figured I'd get the hooker impeller that Impro's makes....
    750 x2, 550/650 conversion, all stock 89,race x2 project!!!
And way to many Kawi parts!

GOOD NEWS if it doesn't run it makes great yard art!

if you run the 750 pump, you do not have to cut down the prop like you would in a 650 pump.
I Sugest we open another thread so this one is precise and to the point

The biggest advantage is not having to silicone so you could change impellers or remove the pump on the fly without having to wait for the silicone to cure, and you can run a magnum pump When I ran the setback magnum pump I used a long nosed impeller and did not have to machine it, however, when I used a standard 750/800 pump I did have to machine the impeller. This was due to the depth of the long nose impeller used in the setback magnum pump... the driveshaft bottomed out in the impeller of the standard pump. You can probably get around that by cutting a small bit off the spline end of the driveshaft (about 3/8"), and by doing this you could use any of the 750/800 impellers made without any machining at all.

Jackson is right, these last few posts will probably get deleted, as we were trying to keep the thread filled with only fix it posts and not conversation. Feel free to hit me up via PM with any questions you might have .
