    Saltwater kills fleas on dogs

FLEAS, saltwater kills fleas.. spread the word
hate to see poor animals suffer.

    found this on internet.
SALTWATER, SALTWATER IS A GREAT WAY TO KILL FLEAS!. Bathe your cat or dog in Fill a sink or tub, large enough to accommodate your pet. It should be deep and wide enough for you to submerge your pet's entire body. Be careful not to allow your pet to drink the water and... be sure not to allow your pets head to go directly under water. Then after this is done I salt the carpets in the playrooms and leave it for 2 days then vacuum and repeat this 2 or 3 more times over the next few days. I swear by this routine and have never had a flea problem.

AND WHAT I HAVE FOUND... i had slight prob with fleas on my chihahua due to the stray cats i have now .but now that my dog swims every day in saltwater shes comes back with no fleas at all!! after she swims . i have her swim like 3 times 30 feet or so in shallow sandbars till she can touch . works great! and great cardio! we do this about every day at the local boat ramp.. but we been doing this for years never had a flea prob till the stray cats came around that i feed now. so they must bring the fleas in.I use a flea comb on my dog every day to check for fleas since her fur is white and short its a one minute process to get them all off.

I think I found quite by accident a good way to check for fleas.

I have dachshunds but It should work for any dog that you can get to lay on there back.

I hold my dogs in my lap like a baby (ok go ahead and laugh now), I rub there belly so they relax for a minute or two and then check between there back legs, lower belly,. Penis area for males...that area....(laugh again)....been doing it for years now and as far as I can tell, if the dog has fleas, the fleas come crawling to the top. My guess is that fleas don't like being upside down.

    just my observation.

Saltwater pools and seawater are VERY different.

Saltwater pool chlorine generators are designed to work with salt levels ideally at 3,000-3,200 ppm. Technically, this salt level is supposed to be below the threshold of human taste. In my experience (pool biz for 18 years and dealing with salt systems since 2004), most men can't taste the salt in salt pools but women generally can. (Women generally have better senses of taste and smell than men, so when your wife wakes you up and says the house smells like natural gas, LISTEN TO HER, and get outside !!.)

By comparison, human tears have salt levels of about 4,000 ppm.

Seawater varies a bit, but commonly has a salt level of 25,000-30,000 ppm (give or take a bit). So, seawater has nearly 10 times the salinity of your saltwater pool. Big difference. If you filled your pool with seawater, your pump/heater/heat pump wouldn't last a season - but your dog would be flea-free ...

    Correction:
    Human tears = 5,000-8,000 ppm
    Taste threshold = 4,000 ppm
