I have seen these ski's and they are pretty sweet. Can some one give me some info on these boats? IE horsepower, are they reliable, handle well? I don't know anything about them but understand they are fairly fast. Thanks in advance-

Well...they have a 140 hp 3 cylinder motor and triple pipes. Two brothers in my region race 3 of them; one stock, one limited and one superstock. They seem to handle pretty well from what I've seen, but I've never been on one. In all the classes the Swan boys race, they are within the top 3, not too sure if that says anything about the boat or not though! :P

The pro785 is a closed sourse assault weapon, stock out of the box. It was designed with one purpose in mind. If you are looking for a family oriented craft, it aint the one. If you're looking for fast acceleration, great top speed, and the ability to turn on a dime, it is the boat. being a race boat though, it does require a little more maintenance than most other craft. Polaris does not recommend riding with a passenger on the pro785. too hard for them to hold on. :o

Thats kind of what I was looking for. Do they still produce them? I looked at the Polaris site but found nothing. I have seen a couple out and about and they are very good looking ski's. As far as maintenance, is it on par with about every other modded ski?

they quite amking them but it is pretty much a ski designed to race.the few that race do well i've never rideen one but they compare the hull to a x4 hull.

The Pro 785 is a very agressive design. It will throw you if you're not paying attention. On flat water its unbeatable. In the rough it gets a little squirelly. Lots of HP for a 785cc boat. The X-4 hulled Doo's are more forgiving and better in rough water IMO but their reliability is non-existent. The 785pro is relatively reliable for a triple pipe powervalved boat. If you buy one there are two things you should get for it, a high grip seat cover and UMI steering with wide bars. After that mod away.

The pro 785 was the only Polaris I would have ever considered buying before the introduction of the Octane.
It's a very fun ski that corners on a dime and has a very strong acceleration. Some kind of "super X4" with similar qualities but all enhanced to the max. It makes it kinda caricatural but that thing has loads of appeal.
On the other hand it's not a cruiser and as Cane says it can get squirrely in rough water but this ski isn't about that, it's very effective on a buoy course and very fun (who said too much fun?) everywhere else.
Reliability isn't bad because the block is pretty strong, but it's a pretty complex engine (triple pipes, electric PVs) that requires more attention than a 4 strokes cruiser.
A very good "old school" PWC.

when you're looking at the bouy 100 ft away, going full throttle, 60+mph, smooth water, you know the boat will go WHEREVER you point it. the big question is, CAN YOU HOLD ON?????. The Doo X4 hull IMO is the closest to the pro hull, but like cane says, the X4 is better in the rough. But the polaris motor requires less maint than the DOO. if yo run amsoil in the ro, it cuts your pv service intervals in 1/2. and the pvs are easy to do. the only real design flaw is that the waterbox dumps a load of water into the front cylinder when you put them on a steep trailer at the launch. I have had to mod more than one pro water box.
Oh yeah, the AAT is good for at least a mile an hour n the pro in stock form, with much better hookup in the rough due to better pump effiiency.
