SXR - how do I keep water out?

I have an 06 sxr that seems to fill up with water whenever i attempt subs. I have a rule 500 pump in it that is always on and I have the PWC Doctor drain. After popping up from a quick sub I have too much water in it and it gets in the carbs. The hood seal is perfect, so I assume I need the air block off kit (or duct tape). Is there anything else I need to do to get air into the ski if I use the air block off? Any other thoughts on what to do?
    thanks,
    Eric

Make sure the little ball on your drain doesnt have any crap around it ( zip ties, weeds, wires, dirt)...I put a little wire mesh behind it and it works great, once in a while i will stick a garden hose from the outside of the drain plug blast it to blow dirt away...

Get the air block off kit from blowsion, helps a lot and very easy to install...also make sure you are closing your hood the right way...sometimes it sits funny.

Do you have any hood mods? or is it bone stock? Where is your bildge outlet located?

x2....works wonders. I don't even have a bildge pump on mine and i can do subs and fountains all day. You can cut another intake in the rear of your hood (per blowsion instructions) to help the recover airflow lost from the front intake.

yeah I made a cut out in the back right corner of the hood... I don't know if it helps with air or not but it doesn't let much water in

thanks for the replies. Anyone have a pic of the cutout they made after blocking the front one?

if you turn the hood upside down one side has a molded in hole in the back(closest to the latch). The other side is filled. take a dremmel with a cutting wheel and cut the hole out. Easy as pie!
