I just run 1-0. It gets expensive, but I am not taking any chances.

    Re: SXR Basic questions

If its a cheap brand oil 40 to 1. If its a higher grade oil then 50 to one. Just because someone has had no oil related failure with el cheapo oil does not mean your engine doesn't wear quicker. That would be like trusting pep boys brand oil in your late model sports car to the same oil change interval as a top rated oil. To some degree you do get what you pay for and don't look at more expensive oil as just being overpriced or over marketed. Just like there is a difference in paints for your house of different prices there is a difference in oils you just don't see it. Saying I have been using the cheapest oil even on my race boat with no problems is like saying I have been smoking for 60 years and I'm still OK.

Some people can smoke all their lives and never get cancer.
Some people can use cheap 2 stoke oil in their raceboats and never have an oil related failure.

Take the chances that you are comfortable with, its a personal choice. Good luck to all!

I run 40-1 in everything. Stock Yamaha's are 50-1, I still run 40-1. Just makes it simple when you have 3 or 4 skis.

I also run 1-0. And I also installed a oil pump just to make sure she's getting enough.
