It would be just the mpem so if you decide you need one, email me since I don't post price quotes. Thanks!

$475 ! Wow ! most I ever paid for used was $250.00 for a whole box in perfect shape, sometimes with a programmed tether. I have bought several over the years.

Re: Connected Battery Cables wrong Please Help

Most Sea Doo's have a sticker on the deck close to the battery that warns against boosting a battery in the ski. The reasons are to not make sparks and ignite fumes, and alot of people unintentionally reverse the booster cables, ultimetly doing the same thing as putting the battery cables onto the wrong posts, usually when installing the battery backwards.

The reverse polarity invaribly knocks out a .29 cent part that is soldered onto the circuit board inside the MPEM. Once that is gone, no damage occurs further on in the chain of ignition parts.

I once had a racer who's father was allways so eager to help out in the pit's. Everytime our mod raceboats would finish a moto, he would grab the battery charger and be Johnnie on the spot to connect it to our total loss raceboats. In one 11 race tour, he personally ruined 6 MSD ignition boxes because he was only able to connect charger pos and neg wires up correctly about 60 % of the time. I pleaded with him to stop grabbing the charger many times, but he never stopped all season until after the very last race at the WF's. I bought so many MSD ignitions that year that were unnecessary purchases. Thank god his dad was finiancing the whole tour that year ! Otherwise it would have left me with Watercraft Tragic instead of Watercraft Magic.

ok so thats good to here that once that cheap thing blows in the Mpem it cant hurt the rest of the system, So the CDI and the parts in the Block Box next to the battery shoud be ok? I guess ill shop around for mpems If say i got that entire grey box used with the Mpem cdi and rectifier and programmed key already can i just pull my old one out and drop the new one in or do have to get programmed to match the motor?

If you get a replacement mpem, it need to have a lanyard programmed to it or it's not going to start the ski. If the 5A fuse is blown, the mpem diode is probably bad. If it isn't blown though, hard to say for sure what's up.

I have a box from a 96 GSX 787 complete except for the CDI I would sell for $100 shipped- I bought the entire box but only needed the cdi so you would have to transfer your cdi into this box. I do not have a key with it. You would need to have a dealer programme this box to recognize your key. You would have to check the number on the sticker on your mpem and get one to match. The one I have is 278-000-897
