Connected Battery Cables wrong Please Help

So I have a 1996 Seadoo Xp 787 and I had the battery out of it for the winter to keep on trickle charge. Today was a nice day and i was considering maybe taking it out so I put the battery fully charged back in. Well it was hard to see down in there and i had left the cables in the same format they were hooked up before so i connected the battery cables up and put the key in no beeps or anything. So i got my head in there and Realized the cables were connected backwards. So i hurried and unconnected and connected the right way Red-Positive, Black-Neg. and put the key in no beeps or cranking, so i came on here and some folks said the fuse could be blown on the MPEM. Took the lid off and the one Five amp fuse on the Mpem was blown, and the other 15amp was good SO i replaced the Fifve amp with a new one and still no beeping or cranking?? Now im stumped is the MPEM Fried no wires or anything anywhere look smoked???

You have blown an internal part inside the MPEM and now you need a new MPEM.

I have a used mpem from a 96 GSX which was also a 787 if you confirm your mpem is bad. You would have to get the number off the silver tag on your mpem to confirm which you need. Yes if you replace the mpem you need to get the mpem programmed to match your dess key or you need to buy an mpem with a dess key.

Before you spend any money you need to troubleshoot to confirm what is wrong. You can download a service manual at the link below. It will have ohm charts so you can test your components.

When you reverse the cables, that almost always kills the mpem. I have a used with programmed lanyard in stock if needed.

ya what is a price on one? is it that whole grey box or just the mpem? im wondering if maybe it fried anything else in there to like the CDI or the rectifier or can they survive a reverse polarity
