    Re: The Question Game

Yes I'm doing okay my original prediction of 80 miles was wrong it was more like 8. Yes... fkn 8.

Somehow my house came through almost unscratched, maybe $1500 damage and most of that was tree removal and unflooded, my Builder from 1987 is still around and I'm going to stop by and give that guy a hug! I have a buddy with a drone coming by to check my roof out but I think it's going to be okay as well.

Anyway massive Devastation around me no power no water at least for the next week or two, staying with family doing well which is important because it gives me an opportunity to service customers and they really needed me this week and moving forward, the stories have just been crazy, heartbreaking. Since I came out so well it'll give me an opportunity to pay it forward the people that are really in need, even if it's just cold water and a 5gal can of gas or a cup of coffee.

Worst natural disaster you've ever been through?

    The Northride Earthquake of 1994...

It was a 6.7 magnitude and man were things shaking! Any highway bridges made of concrete collapsed in the middle where it’s at its weakest point from support beams or columns.

The elevated highway(Interstate 10) that runs east/west in Downtown Los Angeles had collapsed in several different places. And later had strengthening structures mounted to the sides. A motor officer that rides a motorcycle lost his life during the early morning hours of darkness when he was reporting for duty. Lots of widespread damage and loss of life during that time.

Spim - Glad you’re doing well! I was watching the tracking of that hurricane on tv. And man, that sh!t’s terrifying! I guess my guess of 100+ mi. wasn’t too good of a guess. I guess. I guess. I guess. When the news was reporting a direct hit on Tampa Bay. I checked the mileage from Ft. Meyers. And Google said it was 132-138 miles north. So I was relieved at that point. But those last hours before Ian made landfall at Ft. Meyers were heart stopping!

    Effin nutz…

So unpredictable. As only Mother Nature would have it that way.

I was talking with a few work buddies this morning. And one asked me about the water shooting up from behind a sit down jet ski. And wondered why it did that. I told him it’s just an identifier for Yamahas. It’s really a pisser to check if the water cooling passages aren’t clogged. But we got to talking that there’s probably people further inland from Ft. Meyers that woke up one morning after the storm passed and said, “Huh. I don’t recall buying a jet ski or boat. But there’s one or both on the lawn now!” Just krazee! Post more pics, Spim. If you have more. It’s bewildering to me how one home gets the full brunt of the storm. And literally bypasses the house only a few feet next door. And that house is untouched. So mind boggling.

    Last time you played Jenga?

    Re: The Question Game

    I haven’t played in a long time…

But I would rate myself a “5” on the “how good are you at playing darts” scale.

Ever use a Jigger for making drinks? Or do you just “eyeball it”?

Both, in fact, I have a graduated cylinder for mixing more complicated drinks. Yea, I’m a geek.

Remover graduated cylinders? From high school?

I remember them. I use one today to measure % of ethanol in gasoline.

What was your favorite class in HS?
2, 1998 TS 770 L, restored and running great as of July 2019 (NO THANKS to the person at SBT, who put the WRONG crankshaft bearing into the rebuilt engine I got from them)
