    Re: The Question Game

Sounds great!! I made Grouper 2 ways last week at the beach - pan seared and oven baked - fantastic!

Ever tried a Stand Up Paddle Board?

I took mine out last week for the 1st time and I think it's a keeper, haha

    Re: The Question Game

I have tried a SUP with a 1 hr. lesson to see how it was...

I really did like it! A great core workout and you can get into the little ‘nooks and crannies’ that other vessels or means cannot. Had a pretty hot & very cool chick as an instructor. I’m still considering buying one. Maybe an inflatable one. But trying to keep my hobbies down.

Never tried, but the only rentals I've seen have been in the gulf, I'd rather find it on smooth water. Looks easy enough. Is a lesson really needed?

Have an ottoman or coffee table in front of da couch?

We use an ottoman in front of the sectional couch...

The SUP lesson was a gift to me by my wife. It did have value to it. As it showed me how to steer, slow, reboard and use proper paddling techniques. As not to throw your balance off and to help glide through the water more effortlessly. It was worth it and it did help me to make a choice on whether to buy one or not.

Use bone broth in your cooking?

Occasionally, and typically in the fall and winter when I do heavier stuff like stews, or if I am cooking more with root vegetables. It really imparts a lot of flavor to other ingredients that may be on the bland or neutral side of things.

46 degrees at my place this morning. delightful?

    Re: The Question Game

A tad chilly for me for Sept but we dipped into the 50's over night and it's 65 degrees out now - I do really enjoy these temps!

@Cliff - if you buy a SUP I recommend an inflatable for starters, that what I bought and it's much cheaper and easier all around.

Holding off on the new video card - from my research the $$$$ for an upgrade versus the performance isn't worth it, I have a pretty nice video card now.

Speaking of cooking, I like Salmon and now I really like Grouper - what other fish should I start testing out now that I am cooking more?

    Re: The Question Game

hmmm, tough call, personally I like Salmon with very little spice or extra flavor because its such a flavorful dish on its own, where grouper would allow you to be somewhat creative with different recipes and flavors, so Grouper would be my first choice.

I agree totally on the broth, I made a 40 minute chicken soup the other day with my instapot using 2 breasts, celery/carrot/onion, water and chicken broth out of the box and it was so bland compared to my 4 hour version where I boil a whole chicken, skim & pull the meat, then reboil big chunks of veggies to make a strong broth, then boil again with new veggies and add the chicken and noodles back in to finish. Its delicious but takes work.

With this version I saved 3 hours of labor but the end result was a pretty boring soup that needed too much salt & pepper to make it decent.

So, I have a buddy that is making his own pastrami in a smoker and says its the best pastrami ever made, I invited myself over for the next time he makes it because I want to learn and most importantly eat a huge pile of that stuff.

Does smoking your own pastrami sound like its worth the effort?

    Yes! Yes! And...YES!

I love me some great pastrami! There are certain foods that have to be taken away from me. Pastrami being one of those foods.

Is there certain foods that have to be taken away from you or you’ll hurt yourself if no ody comes to your “rescue”?
