Is this problem just the 07 FXHO or does it include the 06 FXHO also?

The 5 hoses and 10 clamps looks like it would, in my opinion, cost about $20 to $25 to buy. My mechanic said he had the upgraded hoses fitted within 30 minutes.

For such a relatively small outlay ( compared to the tradegy and litigation associated with more failures ) one must assume that Yamaha U.S. will quickly get their act together and do the correct thing by their customers ( and share owners ).

To me, it looks like they will only issue a proper recall if more owners contact them and also voice their dissatisfaction on the internet.

OK It affects 06 thru 08 ( it's based on a range of VIN #'s ) . I spoke to a nit wit at Yamaha . I need to get beyond him to see if this " 90 code " can develop into a recall. My guess is probably not until someone's ski sinks and somebody drowns due to the crappy spring clamps and hoses.

I suggest calling a Yami dealer with your VIN and see if your ski is affected.

I just got an email from my dealer. They will order the hoses and clamps and set up an appointment to replace them at no cost to me. Said it takes about 2 hours. My ski is put away in a shed for the winter so I'm waiting until March of 2010 to have mine done. Jim :O)

I contacted Yamaha today(My Dealer) I had to give them the VIN number for my FXHO CRUISER ( 06 ) It came up on the recall list They are going to do the fix on Saturday N/C to customer,I live in South West Florida so I ride all year long, and I didn"t want to take it back out on the water until the problem was addressed,Yamaha USA is also fixing the skis with the problem,I think they should send out letters to the owners of the affected skis.

Guys, this is kind of pathetic. Go to a local hardware store, get 3/4" stainless steel clamps and replace them yourselves. The hoses are fine and do not need to be replaced.
