94 Waverunner 3 exhaust gasket installation question
I have to replace the gasket between the cylinder and manifold and the surfaces are not perfect. I will run it in salt water so I want to keep whats left of the surfaces dry. Is there a gasket that has the silicone or some sort of sealer already impregnated on it that would help seal them? Is one brand gasket better for this than another? Can I use Permatex Spray Copper (good to 500 degrees) to aid in the seal or is there something better? I do not think the water sides of the surfaces will get hotter than 500 but am not sure about the area right around the exhaust ports.

Are both surfaces real bad?
If the mainfold is the main problem, I'd cosider replacing it, as used OEM ones are available very cheaply.
I don't know of any gaskets or gasket "techniques" that do what you're asking. Flushing with freshwater after every ride is critical.
