Antifreeze for winterizing?

Hey guys,
I was talking to a friend the other day and he mentioned that he uses an antifreeze flush on his cooling system to winterize. He thought it also helped to prevent corrosion during the winter months. Any thoughts on this? Any problems?
I had not heard nor thought of that angle before.

Not needed unless you own a sea doo or your owners manual states you have to. Sea doo's have trapped water in the exhaust jacket. I never use antifreeze.

i always add a little RV antifreeze to my cooling system. I'd rather be safe than sorry with a rather expensive toy. Plus, you'll want to make sure you drain the waterbox since it is full of water.

What/where is the "water box" I checked the service manual for my 95 Monte Carlo and the storage procedures don't mention a water box.
I hope I didn't miss anything cause its outside in freezing weather now.

the waterbox is 'muffler' just after the expansion pipe.

What model? Yes some models do trap water in the exhaust system either the expansion chamber or manifold or both. There are also some baffles in the waterbox that will be damaged if toomuch water is left in them and it freezes.

Sorry I forgot to add that I have a 95 Daytona 640. So are there any potental draw backs? I do like the better safe than sorry approach.

On a 640 you should remove the water filter cover since water sits inside it and will crack the cover. Also remove the water hose from the top of the engine and pour in 1 Qt RV antifreeze after you are finished with fuel stabilizer and fogging the engine down the carb.

I have a waterbox on one side of stern and muffler on the other .How should I drain them ,I see they are held down by bunji cords.are there pet**** drains like on the expasion chamber, or do they have to come outI did not see any drains.
