I took this pic the day I locked her up in the clamshell this last March. The week after that big nor-easter and all that snow, it hit 60 plus degrees and took the fun away QUICK.
I moved the clamshell from the backyard/woods to the driveway today for aesy accesss. Its on now!

I have had this thing kickin around. I would unload it if anyone is interested. It would be a great first sled for a kid, a great sled to beat the snot out of in the woods, Or a "yard" sled. Also fun to pitch off of snowbanks on. Its got lots of snap and is super light. Cosmetically it looks like hell. It will need a new track if its to be trail ridden. Mechanically she is sound and strong. Ran all season last year on my folks property. Electric start makes it kinda nice. Just dont need it kickin around....

From another thread about premixing sleds.. DONT do it. Premixing 10+ gallons on the trail is a pain.. I premix for the boat, two 50 gallon tanks.. it doesnt mix well. I have to mix the oil and a few gallons of gas in a can, shake it up then put the rest of the gas in the tanks.. Total pita.
Cant remember ever hearing of a sled meltdown from a failed oil pump.
Couple more rides on the sxi before the snow flies..

Re: G-Crew Sled- Heads. A thread for snowmobiles. Riding, maintenence, etc

Sled prep today again. Today I focused on my mothers "putt putt" Pulled it outta the garage at my folks so I can stash my skis in there. Gonna winterize them this week and stack the small ones on top of each other to conserve space.

She bought this at thye end of last season. The numb nuts who had this before had the engine out to install electric start and didnt align the motor up rigfht for the belt. The belt was SUPER tight. So i moved the motor. Installed fresh fuel lines, fresh fuel filters, new plug boots, painted the exhaust pipe, douched the engine bay with degreaser, siliconed the engine bay down, washed the exterior, new rear bogey wheels, waxed and armoralled. Its still goiung to the dealer for a preseason (track, carbs, etc). Just getting small stuff done.Only 3 more sleds to prep!!!

Love the sound of loud pipes..unfortunatly not everyone feels the same way.. Id rather be quiet and still be able to ride.. That goes for sleds, boats, skis etc.. The whieners are getting there way here on Winni.. decibel limit, now a Fu$%ing speed limit aaarrrggg.. My boat planes off at 45.
Something about a fire in the woodstove and leaves blowing around wakes up the sled bug.
I need an enclosed trailer and another sled though lol
