eBay might be your best friend. I see the storage lids go really cheap.

Re: VX110 sport - upgrades/interchangeable parts from nicer models

I was thinking of getting something that you could place behind the throttle trigger that keeps you from squeezing it all the way to full. That way you could make your speed a little more constant if you were trying to cruise at say 35 mph. My parents who might use it every once in a while aren't interested in going 50+ mph and would probably get tired of holding the trigger halfway. Has anybody found a tool that could do something like this? maybe I'll have to custom make it.
I did see a lid on ebay last week, the bidding was up to $75. I don't know if that was as high as it went or if you could find it for less somewhere else. I'll just keep looking, I've got time. Does anybody know what other VX110 model years would match the 06 lid? To me it looks like the 05 through 09 ones are the same size and shape.

A guy had posted a do it yourself cruise assist made out of a clothes pin.
I have never tried it but seems like to me it fit between the trigger and where the cable
rides into the handlebar . According to him if you pushed it up from the bottom it would
hold speed constant and if you blipped the throttle it would fall out into the footwell.
You could adjust the speed by pushing it further in or out.

The one mod from a higher end ski I would personally like to do would be the adjustable trim
like on the FX-HO models. I'm not sure if the steering nozzle can be adapted or how it is operated. Mechanical or cable or electric, ect. And how it would work with the reverse gate?
That too may have to be changed to a different type... If anybody knows if this mod can be done on a VX let us know....

    Thanks in advance !

Its mechanical. It just changes the steering nozzle angle.

I know mechanical is simpler, but I dislike the QSTS on Yamaha's. You cant change the trim at speed cause the water pressure coming out of the nozzle doesn't let it move when you twist the grip. I always have to release the throttle for a moment, change the trim, then get back on the throttle. PITA IMO lol

    Thread revival....
Is it possible to install mirrors on a VX110 sport?
If yes, is there any "how to" around?
