VTS Bypass Fix
I used the DIC 451M relay and fixed my bad VTS module. I used the wiring instructions that were posted on here. The only thing that was wrong was that the switch was wired backwards, so I switched the wires and good to go, the gauge and everything works...
The best part is, it cost me 2 bucks for the part, and 10 in misc stuff.

Re: VTS Bypass Fix
I think he is talking about the DEI 451M. Intended to control auto door locks on alarms but apparently works well for failed VTS boxes. I will be buying one soon but was hoping to find an owners manual/direction for the unit first. These are all over ebay, I plan to buy a few of them.

Re: VTS Bypass Fix
I haven't seen any direction but, if it works as I understand, then I can't see why it wouldn't work for any VTS module. You just have to find a safe place to mount the relay(rear electrical box?) It seems to stop itself when it senses an increase in current. I will document my progress when I attempt this.

Re: VTS Bypass Fix
so it is just a power window setup? wire it like you would a pwer window to the switch, which bypasses the VTS box, and you have under-engineered seadoo's mess?

Re: VTS Bypass Fix
If you have done the conversion and it is fully functional, how about posting the wiring diagram or connections and a couple of pics? Judging from the number of views on this subject every time it comes up we are all on the edge of our seats - forum searches never seem to lead anywhere conclusive. I have a couple of these relays coming and when I get them I will figure this out and post what I did when I get it right but if you already have you could save me (and everyone else) some pain & suffering i'm sure.
This forum is the best problem solving tool on the planet with the best people as members!
It still blows me away that nobody has put together a canned assembly with the relay and a set of comprehensive instructions and sold them on ebay.

Re: VTS Bypass Fix
I just ordered one also, Blaze. It sounds like it should be pretty easy, I guess we will find out.
