Wow! You mean no one ever thought of putting a hole in the bottom of a boat before?

    Wonder why....

I and other SC owners have discussed this - The main issue against this is that the hole will act as a "scoop" as the ski is going forward at a slight angle (nose is up).

This might swamp your engine if you coast to a stop. Or if you're going all out and you let off the gas.

I am hoping it works for you - because then I'll do it!

Scoop Schmoop! Dam the Torpedos! All ahead, Full steam! Lights out into the fog!!

or plan b. The reverse scoop
It would be great to cruise the st johns river , leaning back watching the wild life with out a chain saw along for the ride.

what if you put a type of scupper flap on the openings with the hinge of the flap towards the front of the boat, that way the water won't force it's way in.

would the exhaust have enough pressure to push it's way through the flap? or would it build up and chose the engine?

just a thought. anyone care to elaborate?

    1-WEED CATCHER!
2-Seems like it could affect your steering.
3-All that work on your motor to gain speed and then install a drift anchor.

I hope it works. I know what you mean about the chainsaw.

I had good results with wrapping the waterbox with soundproofing material. I got some 3/4" thick rubber soundproofing from work - not sure where it came from, but it was expensive.
