    Re: Ethanol proposal

Corn prices have very little to do with the price of food. There is like 5-10 cents worth of corn in a box of corn flakes. And if we are so hard on up using corn for food why do we export millions of bushels. Doesn't add up at all. We've been running ethanol in sleds, atv's, pwc's, lawn mowers... you name it, ever sense they started using it. 0 problems. I think the benefit out weighs the rare instance of a problem. Employee's 1000's of people and the money is all kept in our country.

If you don't want to run it in your ski. Then don't. If you look around there is places you can buy all Lead, just not as the pump. You just have to get your own storage. 55 Gallon plastic barrel, and a hand pump should do the trick. I had them bring me out 200 gallons last year. But I'd rather have fresh gas from the station, even if there is ethanol in it.

Brazil also runs E100. If it was so bad for the vehicles why would they do this? Then there's that guy on TV that burns vegetable oil in his van. He had some crazy amount of miles on that thing, like 200,000-300,000. Still running strong. The more we run the less gas we have to buy from them commie countries spending our money on making bombs to destroys us .

Either way we are growing the corn. Instead of exporting it make ethanol out of it. Let china starve hahah.

    Re: Ethanol proposal

    from google search:

The problem with E100 is that you can't start a car with it in the cold, anything below 40-42 degrees Fahrenheit because there isn't enough vapor pressure. So, to start the E100 cars when it's chilly out, the Zafira and other Brazilian flex-fuel models have a six ounce reservoir that holds standard gasoline/petrol that is used to fire up the engine when necessary. This is also where the annoying part come in: GM's number one customer complaint in Brazil comes because people forget to fill this tiny gas tank up and can't start the car.

What does that have to do with this? lol

Dump some sea foam in with fresh gas and go. Charge your battery before going out. If its a 2 stroke have some extra spark plugs along. I don't know anything about them skis.

    "Higher Ethanol Blends Creates Jobs

Raising the ethanol blend supply to 15% could create and support more than 130,000 jobs and inject $24 billion into the economy annually, according to a North Dakota State University study. In this economic crisis, those jobs could helps thousands of Americans get back to work in good paying jobs that can't be outsourced. Also, the movement to a fuel blend of up to 15% would displace 7 billion gallons of imported oil."

    Re: Ethanol proposal

Ethanol on a molecular lever is a bigger atom than gasoline there for by running it in a machine that has a carb it will cause the rpms to go up because you are not able to flow as much through the jet opening also if you look at the chemical composition ethanol has an extra oxygen molecule so we are also leaning out the air/fuel ratio chemically. So everything that has a carb will have to be re adjusted or in some cases re jetted. One thing to be aware of if you go from using ethanol in a machine that has never used ethanol before is that ethanol acts as a cleaner (its alcohol) so any fuel deposits that are in the tank, lines and carb are going to start to loosen up and then start clogging jets. Ethanol has its place but there has to be a lot of education and studies done before they start adding more to the fuel.

Alcohol should be drank, not put in the gas tank.
