Re: Seadoo HX turfing project- including the rails
the DAP adhesives work very very well on turf. they sell it on hydroturf.com or you can get it at any home depot or lowes. its usually in the paint departments with the caulks and other adhesives
Re: Seadoo HX turfing project- including the rails
I finally got it finished and took it to the lake. I forgot how hard these things were to get onto. I never thought it would be less stable than my Blaster. I can just jump on the back of the Blaster and climb up to the seat- I cant even make it to the seating position on the HX before it turns over. I can side board it pretty easily, but my wife cant. So it looks like I will be selling it now to buy something more stable for her.
I ordered registration numbers for hers and mine- she picked an Oreos font and I went with an old computer font. I think it was about $18 per ski.
And here is a before and after:

I just noticed your signature "-Seadoo HX- for my wife." After all the work you didn't see the HX Hard to ride tread that was up during all the work you were doing? That's funny

I didnt think it could possibly be harder to board than my Blaster- my wife can sit on it without the engine running easily.

Re: Seadoo HX turfing project- including the rails
I was thinking about doing something exactly like this on my 94 XP hull. The ugly purple rails have got to go. What size sheet do I need to do just the rails on my hull? I already have a mat kit so I don't need any turf for that part.
My Current Fleet:
95 Seadoo XP 800 - The Couch
90 SN SJ - 701 61x piped fun boat
98 RN SJ - 701 61x/62t (under the knife)

one sheet of turf did the entire ski with plenty to spare.
