No worries, but unless you're exceptionally lucky and are able to piggy back off a city or venue's insurance and permit, you will most likely be in a much better position to become associated with a sanctioning body as it will lower your costs significantly, as well as offer you the expertise in how to run an event such as this.

It's good to see you guys in ND have some opportunities though. Not sure if you know/remember Jaime Chaney (Pro 800 runabout) but I think he's big into snowcross up there too. Poor guy had to travel quite a ways just to compete regionally, but boy did he excel. He might be a good person to get in touch with if you can make these races a go.

What kind of tricks do you ND boys have in your hat for freestyle competitions?

I should be rolling this year with my new hull, but other than that, we are flat water freestylers out here.... still debating on that ramp though. I know there are some quick skiis around here that would be interested in a time trial bouy course and a radar run.

dont waste your time and money on a xscream motor----- just go stock

This is a video of a bone stock Gp800 motor running with ONLY our single exhaust system.

Re: we might get some jetski compitions in nd

Like I said, I am running into financial issues and time issues with the origional plan, which was to make a complete custom hull. Jamie and I started on it last week (as well as tearing into his SXR). I decided to use a modified SX bottom deck and then make a top deck to my liking. Should be pretty light, even though I have decided to mold with fiberglass rather than carbon fiber as it will be smaller than normal.
No clue what i am going to do for a motor yet. Would love to put in that PJS Viper 9000 (800cc) for sale on here, but cant swing $1400 right now. Plan to make the motor mount area fairly universal for easy motor transitions.

Yes.... its now 1 day away from April and I am WAY behind. But we got 16" of snow yesterday so the local waterways are WAY behind too!

We should have a pretty sweet group of skiis at the sortie this year. The group we brought last year will have some pretty custom skiis. Mine, Jamies moded SXR, Brent got a 650 that he flatdecked, and, although I havent seen it, that black w/ flames superjet it a totally different animal!
We also picked up like 5 other riders interested in going. May be bringing a flatbed full of skiis down this year!

You really should consider putting the time into a different hull the 650sx has so many design flaws. The black, realflamed superjet is decent, sounds like Lakeboy's new ski is going to show you guys whats up. As long as my ski is running good at the sortie I will show you guys what a superjet and a relatively small amount of money can do

maybe its just because I'm not used to an SJ, but IMO it was less stable than my 650 was! Had a ton of lowend power but seemed really unstable and squirley. The reason I decided to go with the modified SX bottom deck was because that is what I have always ridden and what I am used to. I Most of the 650 design flaws( in regards to the bottom deck) I think I am aware of and have plans to correct. The one I am a little hesitant about is tapering the rear (ie, shortening the water contact area a couple of inches) My fear is that this will cause porpusing. May stick with the origional footprint and play with modifying ride plates.
