I have the same ski and can tell you this much.

Max RPM 1 up is about 6820-6840rpm depending on load and water conditions. Max speed according to my GPS is 86km/h (53.4mph), this was recorded with 3/4 tank of fuel and me riding (about 115kg).

On smooth water mine will pull 6800-6820 with 2 riders and do about 51-52mph. Dobnt look at the speedo, it reads way low in my case.

Assuming that youhave no mechanical issues and that the impeller and wear ring are in good condition you shouls also see the same as me.

How many hours has you ski done? I would suggest you remove an clean the RAVE valves, replace plugs and fuel filter. Also make sure you run it on premium, they do not run right on regular.

I wonder why the 02 gtx di is slower than the 01 gtx carb model, i used to have that and it pulled about 59-60 mph

the manual reccomends regular gas?? ive used regular the only time i had it out..... your saying it runs better on the premium? and yes, i will have to check the rave valves and the fuel filter, i dont know what there condition as i just bought the seadoo, the plugs were just done by the dealer who i bought it from...., ,,, it has 112 hours on it... and it seems to run great...

I had issues running my 03 GTX DI on regular and also found that it was detonating after removing the RAVE valves and inspecting the piston tops. I would not risk it because if you melt a piston or damade the rings then it will be a costly rebuild.

Like I said my 03 did just under 54mph couple of weekends ago. I suppose the conditions were 90% of what you would call ideal and I am not lightweight either. Will less fuel and a lighter rider the ski may do 55-56.

The 02/03 GTX DI models have a different hull to the 00/01. The later models have a bigger hull, much like the GTX and RTX today. The 01 model is lighter and has a shorter hull, so I think this explains why it would be 2-3mph faster. I imagine it would get there faster too.

    Re: 2002 GTX DI Info..

my 2000 RX carb runs 7000rpms and 64mph (stock)

my 2002 RXDI was only running 6500rpms at (guessing 53-55mph)
so I started looking for a problem. I found a piece of exhaust manifold broken off on inside of manifold. Hasn't been put back together, but I believe that was problem.

    Re: 2002 GTX DI Info..

No stock carbureated GTX does 59-60, more like 53 mph, and a RX goes about 61 tops. You guys are dreaming.

Shortly after introducing the DI motors, the fuel spec was raised to 91 octane because pistons were breaking when run on 87 or 89 octane. My 2001 manual clearly states not to use less than 91 octane fuel.

I have a DI in here right now because the owner ran old gas and said he buys 89 octane. This is the 4th DI this year in here for the same problem.
