Re: 1978 Wetbike Rebuild
I think he meant WaveRaider.. as in WaveRunner WaveRaider. I never had a problem on the old 94 701 Raider. In fact.. it holds a special place in my heart. It wasn't until I took out a 95 1100 Raider. 5 mins on the water and it ripped me off at a very high speed. That was the last time I ever rode one. They were fast for their time and the engine sounded great.. but forget turning.

Re: 1978 Wetbike Rebuild
wait.... no lanyard? I know older standups had the self circle ( will someone explain how it knew when you fell off? did it always circle when the handlepole is down or something? ) but did this one just slow down to idle and keep on going?

Re: 1978 Wetbike Rebuild
Sorry to bump an old thread.
I recently had one of these things dropped off at my shop to get going . Decided I could take the challenge over the winter. Went through the fuel system and I don't have spark with the post wired up only after I disconnect it. The key post I suspect is stuck closed grounding the coil.
Does anyone know where I can get a post for this wetbike? I bought a new key from Atlantis but it doesn't open the switch it stays closed.

Well im sure that you already have answers as your post was from 6 years ago... but the answer to your question is that the lanyard switch itself is common closed, and needs the magnetic lanyard to open it, the CDI does not create signal to the coils UNLESS the lanyard switch is open/ not supplying ground to the CDI AND you have to have both of your spark plugs grounded in order to get the plugs to spark.
the Atlantis brand that you bought is using a mold that is a copy of a copy, which for lack of better words, is known to not work at all in the wetbike underworld... your best bet is get an aftermarket replacement off amazon that is a COMMON CLOSED setup
