Re: Jet Ski Oil
There are alot of different opinions on this subject, I used seadoo oil for the past few seasons with no problems. Many people say they use the cheap walmart stuff but since I do not have a grand sitting around to rebuild my engine because it blew due to lack of proper lubrication I go with the recommended oils. I am thinking about using Amsoil Interceptor, more expensive but a full synthetic and since I only mix 5-10 gallons of gas a week not too worried about the cost. The biggest thing is to use an oil that is API TC rated. There are so many opinions here you just have to do what you think is right.

welcome to the forum. Folks are not usually so short answered around here, it is just that Oil is a highly debated topic lately and was just discussed to death on this thread (click on link below). With 38 posts, you have plenty to catch up on and I don't think we ever reached a unanimous conclusion.

I might also add to be sure and read the user guide (free download from www.sea-doo.com) before you attempt to start it. I have seen many a sad stories where a new owner does something that causes major damage. Like flooding the engine with hose water for example. Also, some other hot topics around here that you should be aware of is problems caused by bad fuel lines which is quite common if you still have the original OEM grey Tempo lines.
In general, stop riding your ski if it is not running right and fix the problem before it turns into a big expensive repair bill.

Re: Jet Ski Oil
I would never use cheap wal-mart / nappa / ect. oil..... read around... Bombardier is not needed like they would like you to think.
I would use the Amsoil value brand for stock ( it is cheaper than Bombardier oil) and for hi-po apps I would use their middle of the line, or what I use ..... Amsoil Dominator!!
Don't mix oils either.
And.... SDD is right, people are normally not so short around here. Good luck to you!

Re: Jet Ski Oil
Just use quality API-TC. I usually use the Sea-Doo oil, but if I can't get it I run to Wal-Mart and get the Synthetic Quicksilver API-TC. It's actually a little more expensive than the Sea-Doo stuff, but only one place around here sells the stuff and he ain't open alot.
