What are these things worth? Top speed? pros and cons? I may be able to pick one up cheap!

    Thanks

It would have to be cheap! That's a 587 powered pretty slow ski and a nice one should sell for maybe $1000 at most with trailer. The cons are it's an SP with no gauges, no trim, no HP, aluminum impeller, and an aluminum vaned pump vs the bronze vane ones found on the XP and SPX. They're fun though, pretty low maintenance and good on gas.

That doesn't sound like a bad deal. As for top speed, I would guess around 40. As for comparison, Sea Doos have almost always offered the best hp/cc ratio and ride. Yamahas are more reliable but if you do the routine maintenance on a Sea Doo, they'll last a long time.

    Re: 1993 seadoo sp

Thanks again.....One more question if you dont mind. Is it hard to get parts for them? I have a 1986 Kawasaki 550js and I can find parts for that old slead
preety easy. I have never worked on a seedoo before so I am curios about parts availability and ease of wrenching on them

    Thanks again

Tons of parts available for those. I stock all kinds of new and used myself as well. I also have quite a few tech articles so you can do your own work on them too.

I just picked up a 94 sp. Haven't ridden it since it's winter but I did test the compression... 140/142 which I understand is ok.

Check the compression before buying it.

find a friend who has a compression tester (or buy one), screw it into where the spark plug goes, hold throttle wide open and crank the engine until the compression gauge needle reads as high as it can. The needle will stop rising after a couple revolutions of the engine.

Its real easy to check compression because the plugs are right on top of the engine and easy to get at.

I;m sure someone here knows what psi the 587 should be at. I think it's around 140-150psi.
