    Re: OMFG surface drive PROPSKI

Its been a fun project... the speed is cool, but the best thing is that it gets really great fuel economy and rough water handling

    basics

2005 GP1300 R mostly stock engine (compression, dplate and reed spacers)
lots of work trueing hull sharpening water exits ect
fastest speed non-nitrous was 78 mph with jetpump and would have to fill up 2x in day of riding

with prop conversion 106 is my best speed and range has nearly doubled.. acceleration from 20-100 is insane! going through rough water is much better since there is no pump

the negatives is that is doesnt accelerate from dead stop nearly as well ( the surface drive prop ventilates until ski is on plane
It doesnt turn as sharp or as hard

If you ride twisty sections or drag racing, this conversion wouldnt be a good option. If like me you do long distance rides, on rivers or lakes, its a really cool , very efficient alternative.

Most of videos you have seen with huge rooster tail is without the prop gaurd installed ( for effect, tosses huge rooster tail ) whenever I ride, i run a prop gaurd ( for safety ) and this reduces rooster tail to almost nothing.
