AWA Alert: New Hampshire Speed Limit
The House Transportation Committee will take up the issue of HB-847, the onerous boating speed limit issue this Thursday, October 18th 2007 in Franklin New Hampshire.
Itís important that riders show up and educate the Committee on the lack of need for a boating speed limit. There are already more than sufficient existing laws dealing with reckless operation of a boat. The Marine Patrol needs to spend their time on enforcing current law and not be burdened with arbitrary speed limits for law-abiding boaters.
Please plan to attend the hearing and show your support against this needless proposal. Rest assured the anti-boating crowd will turn out in force.
The hearing will be held at the Franklin Opera House (Franklin City Hall), 316 Central Street, Franklin, New Hampshire. The schedule lists another issue at 4:00 p.m. with the Speed Limits issue to start at 5:00 p.m. We urge you to attend early as the schedule is always subject to change.
Bring fellow riders, neighbors, family to the hearing. Every person counts! If you can not attend, please call your House Member and educate them that New Hampshire already has laws on the books to deal with dangerous boating, and there is no reason for speed limits.
