    550sx pole spring upgrade???

my 550sx needs a new handle pole spring. Is there a stronger "race" spring? or is there any other spring i can get that is an improvement over stock?
Anyone with experience on this topic?

    thanks!

    Re: 550sx pole spring upgrade???

There never was a stock pole spring for any 440/550's...all aftermarket. You can use 2 springs, there are 2 different styles. I did this to one ski and the pole stays up about a foot and a half above the hood all on its own. Gordy30 on ebay sells a westcoast spring with 2 coils on the otside edges and then the "regular" style spring with one large coil in the center will fit in between the westcoast coils all on the same pivot bolt. Hard to explain...I have a picture at home.

    Re: 550sx pole spring upgrade???

It seems like most springs will universally fit.
The one thats on there now is one of those double sided springs, which is broken on one side, I have a replacement westcoast double sided spring I have yet to put on it, I was just wondering what everybody else does to beef up their bars.

Im definately interested in the idea of the "double spring" with a "single spring" in the center

Here it is with duals! I'd definitely recommend the metal sub plate as well since there is a lot of spring force with 2...just on the fiberglass it will probably break.
