Donations Accepted for Lake Havasu Victim's Son

Many of you here have read the tragic post regarding the father and son who were ran down by a Fountian boat in Topock Canyon at Lake Havasu a couple of weeks back here (http://www.pwctoday.com/showthread.php?t=134617 ) The father died on scene from this hit and run, and his 9 year old son Dylan was terribly traumatized as he witnessed his father’s murder.

Several people here suggested we try to do something for this little boy to help him now, and in the future. Dylan's mom, Denise called me today to give permission for us to open a PayPal account to accept donations for him.

Denise and Barry (the father who died) were divorced but actually remained the best of friends; A great situation for her son. Apparently Barry spent a lot of riding his pwc, and enjoyed sharing his passion for the sport with his son.

Denise wanted me to thank everyone on our forum here for the outpouring of support and care they have shown her family – she’s somewhat shocked a group of total strangers would offer to come to her son’s aid, but really appreciates the support. I told her this is normal for our community – we just want to try and help this boy to a brighter future.

If you would like to donate to the Dylan Pendley’s Educational Fund, you may do so by simply clicking the button below. 100% of the proceeds will go towards helping this little boy build a brighter future for himself when the time comes.

    Thanks for your support,

Paypal sent. I hope we can make a positive impact on Dylan in this time of tragedy. I ride that exact spot often and have for 20+ years. It breaks my heart to hear this story, having 3 boys of my own around Dylan's age.

Lisa, maybe you can put this on all the forums? I know not many visit the news section for whatever reason.

I don't know how many times I have been in Topock Gorge and have seen all kinds of speedboats blasting by at 90 mph, or even more than that. On top of that you have the "sun glare" factor late in the day. As pwc riders we always need to be aware that we have no protection in a "collision situation". We need to be as careful as we can be . . .
