How many Fountains of that type are out there or built for ech year for that matter. If they look at state registrations and Coast Guard registrations I'd bet they would find it in short order.

That model hasn't changed that drastically in years. They all look similar.

Dang that sends chills down my spine. My 10 year old and I do the same thing only several miles up river. I tell him to head for shore though whenever a boat is approaching.

The water right by the I-40 bridge there is always congested with people going in all directions. The bridge pilings themselves are a great vision blocker.

Accidents can occur and I could totally see this happening at that spot but to leave is inexcuseable. I'm no advocate of gov. regulations but that section of the river is way overdue for a little speed control. Maybe 100 yards before the bridge and 100 yards after the bridge. You have the Park Moabi people coming out of a long no wake zone near by and then also people coming out from Topock right there plus the view blocking bridge pillons there just makes for a bad recipe ,imo. I have seen many close calls there. The people coming out of the no wake zones are getting on the gas peopel fly up and down river and like I said, the pilings blocking the view. Not to mention the people that are always swinging out from under the bridge from the rope that hangs there and jumping in the river.

If you lend someone $50 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it?

Yeah, but that's a distinct graphic package. They change the graphics from year to year. They could at least narrow it down I'd think.

Poor kid, seeing you Dad run down while you trying to have fun with him. There no way we can imagine how this will affect the rest of his life. I feel for him.

                      Thanks from Havasu.

I got the word to eight households in Havasu. Most didnt know about it and the ones that did didnt know it was a fatality. They need to systematically open every boat storage from blythe to needles and search for this boat.

OT- isnt it illegal to operate a PWC at age 9-10?

Another bottom line is they need to ban those manhood replacement boats from havasu. That lake is tiny. Its barely a pond. There should be a 40mph speed limit on the river and 60 max on the lake and not allow boats over 21 feet on the lake. I have had many close calls with those guys blowing by at 60 to 100+.....go to the ocean.

Not knocking boats that big. I have three friends in Havi in the 30 foot club. The lake is just too small and congested and you never need that much boat.

I think you are on to something Willy. Should be a rule / reg that if the body of water is no wider than say 400ft, the speed should be limited. Out in the middle of the lake, increase it. I suppose it would impact most pwc's as well based on the safe speed that is determined. Seen to many close calls down by me when someone is doing 100mph and they have no where to go. I'm sure the police has contacted every Fountain dealer to find out who in the Tri-State area owns one. I couldn't fathom watching my dad get killed and then the culprit drives off...

Yes, but they are allowed to race at 10 so how do you practice, legally? I had this dilema from the day the juniors class was announced a couple of years ago.

Havasu is not a pond. Its a huge lake. I agree the river is too narrow for these boats. I myself have had a few close calls riding through the gorge area towards havasu.Maybe the river section should be regulated by boat size. They have added alot of 5mph ares throughout the river between the gorge and havasu.Hope they find the culprits.

I will be making my way thru havasu next
week on my way to pahrump.
Now that I know what to look for I will
take the extra time and milage and go
thru parker then north thru havasu then continueing
                                thru needles then into bullhead.
                                Hope they find them first.
